Humor Columnist... er, Humorist

My dear Stanford writer friend, Mark, has got a new column running on the Orkut Social Network. I like him because he uses big words like "Sisyphean" and can successfully use the Care Bears in his political commentary to make a valid point. He's a funny guy. Yes, funny, ha-ha, like a clown. He amuses me. He is here for my amusement. Ha-ha.

Oh Kermie!

Philatelists will be pleased to hear that the USPS has announced one of their 2005 stamps releases will feature The Muppets including Kermit, Miss Piggy, The Swedish Chef, and my favorites, Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker! Expect them in the first half of 2005 along with the Chinese Lunar New Year Souvenir Sheet.

The Office Special

My friend has one of those universal DVD players and ordered The Office Special (view clip) from the UK so I could watch it last night. All I have to say is "yah!" and "finally!" I love Tim (played by Martin Freeman)--he's got the best facial expressions. Does he finally get Dawn? Does Gareth go power crazy? Does David make it as a rock star and find love? Does Finchy get his comeuppance? Could there be any more cringe inducing moments? It comes out on DVD in the US on November 16. And I hear Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant have a new series in the works about an extra--less upbeat than David Brent. Can't wait.
